Local Riders to Host Motorcycle Poker Run for Veteran Care

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — The American Legion Riders are hosting a Motorcycle Poker Run on Saturday, May 30, 2026, to benefit Run to Home Base, an organization dedicated to veteran and family care.

The charity event will take place rain or shine, starting and ending at the American Legion Post 125 located at 91 American Legion Drive.

Registration opens at 10:00 AM, with kickstands up (KSU) at 11:00 AM. The registration fee is $20 per rider, which includes a poker card and food.

The scheduled ride route includes stops at several regional locations:

  • Haydenville American Legion

  • Shelburne Falls Pub & Brew

  • Readsboro American Legion

  • Return to North Adams Legion (Post 125)

The event will conclude back at Post 125 with a community picnic and a 50/50 raffle. All proceeds from the ride will directly support the Run to Home Base veteran care programs.

SteepleCats Rally Late for Road Win

WHITE RIVER JUNCTION, Vt. -- Owen Arias hit a two-out, two run single in the top of the seventh to erase a 5-4 deficit and send the North Adams SteepleCats on to a 6-5 win over Upper Valley in New England Collegiate Baseball League action on Friday.
 
Alex Barrist and Evan Meier singled to start the winning rally. And Sebastian Rhoades hit a sacrifice fly to center before Nelphie Lopez worked a walk to load the bases with two out.
 
Richie Kerstetter earned the win on the mound with six strikeouts in four innings of shutout relief of starter Kellen Moore.
 
Barrist led North Adams' offense, going 4-for-4 with a pair of doubles. Meier was 3-for-4 at the plate, and Nicholas LoBello doubled and scored a run.
 
The SteepleCats (4-12), winners of three straight games, are in Lynn on Saturday afternoon to play the North Shore Navigators.
