NAPL: Tunneling Through the Hoosac Mountain

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — On Wednesday May 6, at 6pm, visit the North Adams Public Library and hear a lecture by Gary Brierley.
 
Brierley is a Civil Engineer, Drury High School graduate, and internationally known tunneling expert who has dedicated his career to mining and tunneling projects, earning the engineering nickname of "Dr. Mole." 
 
Brierley will discuss Hoosac Tunnel construction techniques, and follow with a "how" the Hoosac Tunnel would be planned, dug, and constructed in 2026.
 
Located in the 3rd floor community room. All are welcome. This event is co-hosted with the North Adams Historical Society.

North Shore Shuts Out SteepleCats

LYNN, Mass. -- John Hegarty gave up one hit in five innings of work on Saturday to led the North Shore Navigators to a 4-0 win over the North Adams SteepleCats in New England Collegiate Baseball League action.
 
Nklas Pavia went six innings on the mound for the SteepleCats, striking out six and allowing three runs.
 
Nelphie Lopez' double and Evan Meier's single accounted for North Adams' offense.
 
The SteepleCats (4-13) are home on Sunday for a double-header against Navigators (8-11) starting at 2 p.m.
