PITTSFIELD, Mass. – Ben Sykes scored midway through the second half to complete a 2-1, comeback win for the Pittsfield boys soccer team against Taconic on Saturday night.

The Thunder got a goal from Justin Ventura Lozano in the first two minutes to open the scoring.

Taconic led until the first minute of the second half, when Amos Ezan scored unassisted to tie it.

“We looked very lethargic to start and didn't really get into the game until five minutes in, which cost us because we went down early because of it,” Pittsfield coach Ryan Wanek said. “Afterwards, the team really stepped up and we created a ton of chances. The second half, we started strong with a different attitude and we capitalized because of it.”

Quinn Schaller set up Sykes for the game-winner.

Pittsfield senior Sam Glockner filled in in goal for the injured Reese Cook-Dubin and earned the win.

Pittsfield (6-4-2) takes a three-game winning streak into Tuesday’s home game against Amherst-Pelham.

Taconic (5-6-2) hosts McCann Tech on Monday.
