This monthly First Friday event is themed "I Love North Adams." Businesses will have extended hours and many galleries will be hosting openings, closings, and other special events. 
 
Future Lab[s] hosts its closing reception for the exhibit featuring the work of more than 40 member; Steeple City Social will have special cocktails and a performance by Five Pound Horse; Installation Space will be projecting on the Flatiron Building; Gallery North opens with works by Isabel Rosenthal and permanent gallery artists; Common Folk Artist Collective has its weekly Common Craft Night; Savvy Hive has a fill-a-bag sale for $25; Alison Pebworth has open studios.

Rev Tor's 14th Annual Dead of Winter Jam

Tor will be honoring 61 years of Grateful Dead music. There will be many special guest performances, perfect to bring a friend and jam out to the music. There will also be a vendor area and guests are encouraged to bring snack.

Easy Glen Loop Hike
Greylock Glen Outdoor Center

These easy-paced, 1 to 3-mile guided hikes are geared for seniors, but open to all ages. Hiking times may vary from 90 minutes to two hours. Be prepared for variable weather, wear appropriate clothing and sturdy boots.

SteepleCats Earn Their First Home Win of Summer

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — It took nearly three weeks and plenty of heartbreak, but the North Adams SteepleCats finally had their breakthrough moment at Joe Wolfe Field.
 
Behind six strong innings from starter Niklas Pavia and a game-changing three-run third inning, the SteepleCats earned their first home victory of the 2026 season Sunday afternoon, defeating the Upper Valley Nighthawks 4-1.
 
The SteepleCats wasted little time getting on the scoreboard. Chris Diaz opened the bottom of the first with a double into the gap and immediately put pressure on the Nighthawks by stealing third base. One batter later, Bobby Stang hit a ground ball that allowed Diaz to race home and give North Adams an early 1-0 advantage.
 
That was all the support Pavia needed to settle into a groove.
 
The right-hander was electric from the start, striking out the side in the second inning and consistently attacking hitters with confidence. Pavia struck out seven batters over six innings of work, allowing just one run while repeatedly pitching out of trouble.
 
Upper Valley’s lone run came in the third inning when Frank Kelly launched a solo home run to left field, knotting the game at one apiece.
 
The tie lasted only minutes.
