Windsor Lake to Undergo Chemical Treatment

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Windsor Lake is scheduled to undergo chemical treatment for nuisance aquatic vegetation on Friday, June 6, 2025.
 
Following the treatment, restrictions on water use will be in effect.
 
The water should not be used for drinking and cooking until June 10, 2025. Boating, fishing, and swimming will be restricted until June 7, 2025. Watering of livestock is prohibited until June 8, 2025. Irrigation from the lake is not permitted until June 12, 2025.
 
The chemical treatment is being conducted under a permit issued by the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MassDEP) and an order of conditions from the Conservation Commission. For further information, Solitude Lake Management can be contacted at 508-885-0101

SteepleCats Fall at Keene, N.H.

KEENE, N.H. -- The North Adams SteepleCats rallied for a pair of runs in the top of the ninth inning but fell to the Swamp Bats, 7-5, on Tuesday night in New England Collegiate Baseball League action.
 
Chris Diaz and Tony Woodie homered for North Adams, which gave up just four earned runs.
 
The SteepleCats (4-17) open the second month of the season on Wednesday night at the Valley Blue Sox.
