Spartans Outslug Mount Greylock

GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. – Lexi Carpenter went 3-for-3 with a pair of RBIs Friday to lead the Monument Mountain softball team to an 11-10 win over Mount Greylock.
 
Mount Greylock’s Kimora Melanson (2-for-3) drove in a run in the top of the seventh and reached second on the play with nobody out.
 
But Monument Mountain pitcher Andrea Paul got a pair of infield pop-ups and a fly ball to Ember Raifstanger in center to end it.
 
Paul struck out six and allowed eight earned runs in the complete-game win in the circle.
 
Raifstanger, Mya Dupont and Lily Khalsa each went 2-for-3 in a 12-hit attack for the Spartans.
 
For Mount Greylock, Kaleigh Jaros and Bayleigh Tatro each homered. Jaros went 3-for-4 with four RBIs.
 
The Mounties (2-8) go to Lenox on Tuesday.
 
Monument Mountain (4-6) is at McCann Tech on Saturday.
