Ezan Leads Generals Past Minnechaug
PITTSFIELD, Mass. – Amos Ezan recorded a hat trick, and the Pittsfield boys soccer team overcame a half-time deficit to earn a 4-1 win over Minnechaug on Tuesday.
The Falcons scored in the 18th minute to take the lead and stayed up, 1-0, at half-time.
Nine minutes into the second half, Ezan scored with an assist from Mikey Hernandez to tie it, and in the 63rd minute, Carlos Lagos scored the game-winner with an assist from Quinn Schaller.
“I thought we played poorly in the first half, we were playing very individualized,” Pittsfield coach Ryan Wanek said. “We were trying to do everything ourselves. Taking too many touches, trying to constantly turn on defenders. Second half, was the complete opposite, we started playing one-, two- touch. Off ball movement was a lot better, we just got back to playing our brand of soccer.”
Ezan scored with an assist from Lagos with eight minutes left and then completed his hat trick in the 78th minute.
Reese Cook-Dubin stopped eight shots to earn the win in the Generals’ goal.
Pittsfield (4-4-2) goes to Agawam on Friday.
