Generals Top Wahconah for First Win
DALTON, Mass. – Carlos Lagos and Mikey Hernandez each had a goal and an assist Saturday to lead the Pittsfield boys soccer team to its first win of the season.
Kevin Campo had the other goal for the Generals in a 3-1 win over Wahconah.
Lagos got the scoring started with a goal assisted by Hernandez in the 12th minute.
It stayed 1-0 until the fourth minute of the second half, when Hernandez scored with an assist from Luis Chairez.
Campo stretched the lead to three goals midway through the second half to give Pittsfield some breathing room.
Generals coach Ryan Wanek said his team showed improvement in its third outing of the fall.
“Our spacing and movement was better which made our passing better,” Wanek said. “We had control most of the game, creating many goal scoring chances. I think we could’ve finished some more chances to make it more comfortable at the end of the game, but overall super happy with the performances the boys gave today.”
Wahconah converted a penalty kick with 11 minutes left to play to get on the board.
Wahconah (0-1-1) goes to Lenox on Monday.
Pittsfield (1-2) is at Minnechaug on Monday.
