Vanessa Martelle,64

Vanessa Rae (Trudeau) Martelle, 64 of North Adams died on Wednesday April 29, 2026 at her daughter’s home surrounded by her loving family.

Vanessa was born on April 15, 1962 in Saint Louis, Missouri a daughter of the late Raymond Trudeau and Frances (Chilson) Trudeau. She attended local schools and graduated from Drury High School with the class of 1980. She then attended McCann School of Cosmetology and graduated in 1981.

Vanessa was employed at Williams College for several years with the food service department. Most of her career was in Health Care where she was a devoted and caring CNA at Williamstown Commons and most recently for the last ten years at North Adams Commons, at the same time worked for the United States Census Bureau. She was also a licensed real estate agent. Vanessa enjoyed camping especially at her private camp in Mohawk Estates, keno, concerts, coffee, lottery and long car rides with her husband.

Survivors include her husband, Daniel Paul Martelle whom she married July 2, 1996, children, Jessica Moye (Donnell) of Clarksburg, MA. Daniel Christopher Martelle (Jen Watson) of Shaftsbury, VT. stepdaughter Melissa Martelle, grandchildren, Thayne Carlo, Thaddeus Gritffiths, Tre Griffiths and Tati Griffiths as well as a brother, Raymond Trudeau of Florida, sister Gail Fritz of Missouri and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, cousins and special friends Barbara Dunn, Jim and Cindy Burdick, Nancy Trimarchi, Steve Casuscelli, Joanne Cowlin, Gail Grandchamp, Sam and Gloria Ayers, Cheesedog and the Braman family. She was predeceased by a brother, Gary Trudeau, sister, Ann Marie Collins and her dogs Ralph and Bailey.

 

FUNERAL NOTICE: A celebration of life for Vanessa Martelle will take place on Saturday May 30, 2026 at 1:00 PM at the daughter’s home at 600 River Rd. Clarksburg, MA. Donations may be made to POPCARES in care of the Flynn & Dagnoli Funeral Home – CENTRAL CHAPEL – 74 Marshall St. North Adams, MA 01247. Jessica, I am so very sorry that your mom has passed away.... She was an amazing woman and I've ALWAYS looked up to her since I was like 5 and we lived im Greylock as kids .she was more my.brothwra age than. We are saddened to learn of the passing of Vanessa. What a wonderful person she was and would always have a smile on her face. Whenever we would see Vanessa at the Market, Convenience store, or anywhere else and if we weren't together she would always ask how we were and depart saying tell the other she said hello.May she rest and be at peace.
