Theresa M. Mirante, 49
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Theresa Mirante, 49, of North Adams, MA died on Wednesday, February 25, 2026 at Fairview Hospital.
Theresa Maria Mirante was born in Pittsfield, MA, on September 16, 1976, to Anthony Mirante and Sandra (DeGrenier) Mirante.
Although Theresa was afflicted with Cerebral Palsy, she had a happy disposition and enjoyed her life. She was very aware of her surroundings and always seemed to attract people to her due to her smile and good humor!
Most of all she loved spending time with her family, listening to music, swimming in the family pool, and taking strolls around the neighborhood in her wheelchair, where she would always be greeted by all the neighbors. She loved to eat, her favorite, pasta and meatballs. She had a great sense of humor and would laugh when anyone around her would cause a bit of mischief!
She attended North Adams’ Sullivan and Greylock schools until age 13. Due to her many physical and developmental needs, she then transferred to Berkshire Meadows in Housatonic, MA, a residential school for special needs children. While there, she made new friends and engaged in swimming, was a member of the bowling team, dined out, took various trips about town, and even a trip to Disney World!
Theresa will be missed by all who knew her. She leaves behind her father, Anthony Mirante; mother, Sandra (DeGrenier) Mirante; brother, Michael Mirante and his wife, Erin (Kelly) Mirante; niece, Lily Mirante; aunt, Diane Mirante and her husband, Edward Denehy; uncle, Peter Mirante and his wife Michele Mirante; and cousins, Stephanie, Ashley, and Nicholas Mirante; her aunt, Colleen Curry; and her second family at Berkshire Meadows. She is predeceased by her grandmother, Jean (Bishop) Curry; grandfather, Norman DeGrenier; grandmother, Alice (Morandi) Mirante; and grandfather, Attillo Edward Mirante.
NOTICE: Services for Theresa Mirante will be Monday March 2, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Flynn & Dagnoli Funeral Homes, WEST CHAPEL 521 West Main Street, North Adams, MA. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery.
