Berkshire Botanical Garden's annual Grow Show Returns

STOCKBRIDGE, Mass. — Berkshire Botanical Garden's annual Grow Show returns Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 8-9, celebrating 56 years of homegrown flowers and produce. 
 
Show hours are Saturday, Aug. 8, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, Aug. 9, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
 
On both days, floral designers and backyard gardeners are showcased in this judged event, featuring five design categories and nearly 80 horticulture classes on display in the Exhibition Hall.
 
Anyone can enter, and participation in the Grow Show is free. Gardeners of all ages and experience levels are welcome to enter the blue-ribbon event known as the Horticulture Division. Backyard gardeners and floral designers of all levels are invited to enter at no cost.
 
The event will also include a youth category, featuring a flower stem or vegetable for display. Youth entries will not receive official judging. Youth entries should be brought to the Garden on Friday, Aug. 7, from 3 to 5 p.m.
 
Admission to the Grow Show is included with garden entry. 
 
Berkshire Botanical Garden is located at  5 West Stockbridge Rd., Stockbridge, Mass.

Berkshire Bounty Sets Pickleball Fund-Raiser

PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- It’s back: the third annual Fun(D)raising Pickleball Tournament for the benefit of Berkshire Bounty.
 
Pickleball players are invited to rally against food insecurity at this fun and friendly benefit fo Berkshire Bounty, a Great Barrington-based non-profit organization with the mission to creatively advance community food security through food rescue and delivery.
 
Registration is open through Sept. 18th with the tournament taking place, rain or shine, on Saturday, Sept. 26, at Bousquet Sport Club in Pittsfield.
 
Berkshire Bounty co-founders Mark Lefenfeld and Jay Weintraub expressed their gratitude to the community in a news release announcing the tournament.
 
Teams of two may register in either the Beginner/Intermediate or Intermediate/Advanced Divisions. Entry Fee is $120 per team, with all proceeds going to Berkshire Bounty.
