SteepleCats Fall in Extra Innings on Road

HOLYOKE, Mass. -- Nick Tomasetto hit an infield single to drive in a runner from third in the bottom of the 10th that gave the Valley Blue Sox a 2-1 win over the North Adams SteepleCats in the New England Collegiate Baseball League.
 
The Blue Sox took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second. But in the seventh inning, Alex Barrist drove in Nicolas LoBello, who had one of the SteepleCats' four hits.
 
Nolan Currier struck out four while allowing one run in five innings of work as North Adams' starter.
 
The SteepleCats (4-17) are in White River Junction, Vt., on Friday to play Upper Valley.

KEENE, N.H. -- The North Adams SteepleCats rallied for a pair of runs in the top of the ninth inning but fell to the Swamp Bats, 7-5, on Tuesday night in New England Collegiate Baseball League action.
 
Chris Diaz and Tony Woodie homered for North Adams, which gave up just four earned runs.
 
The SteepleCats (4-17) open the second month of the season on Wednesday night at the Valley Blue Sox.
