Bradley Scores 1,000th as Hurricanes Advance

CHESHIRE, Mass. – Hoosac Valley senior Qwanell Bradley Saturday scored his 1,000th career point as the Hurricanes earned a 78-59 win over the Academy of the Pacific Rim in the first round of the Division 5 State Tournament.

 

Bradley came into the game needing 11 points to reach the milestone and finished with 27 – 13 in the second quarter to eclipse the 1,000-point milestone before half-time.

 

Adan Wicks led the Hurricanes with 29 points. He made three 3-pointers and scored 15 points in the first quarter, when Hoosac jumped out to a 28-6 lead.

 

Eighth-seeded Hoosac Valley earned its fifth straight win in advancing to the Sweet 16.

 

The Hurricanes (14-8) will host No. 24 Ware on Wednesday for a berth in the state quarter-finals. Ware advanced on Thursday with an upset win at English High School of Boston in the Round of 32.
