Lenox Rallies Past South Hadley in 10th
LENOX, Mass. – Seamus Cooney hit an RBI single to left in the bottom of the 10th to break a 5-5 tie and give the Lenox baseball team a 6-5 win over South Hadley on Friday.
The Millionaires rallied for four runs in the 10th after South Hadley went on top in the top of the frame.
David Kirchner was hit by a pitch, and Gavin Winger and Robbie Bazinet worked walks to load the bases to start the inning.
Kody Lesser then grounded into a fielder’s choice that scored Kirchner and left runners at the corners to make it 5-3.
Evan Albert hit a line drive to right field to score Winter and Lesser, tying the game.
Jason Sibley’s single moved Albert into scoring position, and Albert went to third on a ground ball out.
With two out, Cooney hit an 0-1 pitch into left field to end the game.
Bazinet led Lenox’s offense, going 4-for-4 with a pair of doubles. Sibley went 3-for-5.
Kirchner got the start on the mound and went four innings, giving up one earned run
Mason Daley then threw six innings of relief, allowing three earned runs and striking out 11, to earn the win.
Lenox (7-5) hosts Easthampton on Monday.
