Red Cross Seeks Fall Donors Following Summer Blood Shortages
BOSTON — The American Red Cross is appealing for blood and platelet donors throughout September as national supplies remain fragile following severe summer shortages.
To boost donations, the organization is offering promotional incentives, including:

Sept. 1–20: A Red Cross x Hello Kitty plush clip and sticker pack.

Sept. 21–Oct. 18: A $15 e-gift card.

Sept. 21–30: A custom pickleball paddle and ball for center donors who mention "pickleball" (while supplies last).
The push coincides with the 85th anniversary of Dr. Charles R. Drew's appointment as the Red Cross Blood Program’s first medical director. In his honor, the organization will release a documentary titled Iconic Excellence on its YouTube channel on Sept. 18.
