Wiffle Ball Tournament to Raise Money for Zerbato Scholarship Fund

PITTSFIELD, Mass. – The seventh annual Dave Zerbato Wiffle Ball Tournament Fundraiser will be held Saturday, Oct. 17, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Deming Park.

The event brings together players, families and community members for a day of Wiffle ball while raising money for the Dave Zerbato Scholarship Fund.

The annual tournament honors the memory and legacy of Coach Dave Zerbato, who was a longtime part of Pittsfield’s youth baseball community and coached the Berkshire Bank Little League.

Since its inception, the Dave Zerbato Scholarship Fund has awarded 30 scholarships totaling $26,750 to graduating seniors from Pittsfield High School and Taconic High School.

As a new generation of young players comes through Pittsfield’s baseball and softball programs, the tournament also provides an opportunity to share Zerbato’s story and continue the legacy he created within the local baseball community.

The tournament is open to players in four age divisions: 7–10, 11–13, 14–17 and 18+. In addition to Wiffle ball, the event will feature raffles, food and DZ24 swag, making it a fun community event for players, families and spectators alike. You don’t have to play to take part—community members are encouraged to stop by, enjoy the day and support the scholarship fund.

Proceeds from the tournament benefit the Dave Zerbato Scholarship Fund and help ensure that scholarships can continue to be awarded to deserving Pittsfield High School and Taconic High School seniors in Zerbato’s memory.
