Eileen Bloomberg Ziskind DALTON Eileen Bloomberg Ziskind, a long-time resident of Roberta Road, passed away peacefully on Tuesday at Sugar Hill in Dalton, where she resided for the past year. She was born on October 21, 1925 in Pittsfield, to Samuel and Jeanne Bloomberg. Mrs. Ziskind was a long-time gardener and golfer, who owned the Berkshire Leather Company in Pittsfield along with her husband, Elihu Ziskind, whom she married on March 12, 1945. At the close of the Berkshire Leather Company, Mrs. Ziskind went on to become a realtor with the Rose Agency (later Coldwell Banker) where she retired at the age of 82. She was a member of Temple Anshe Amunim. Mrs. Ziskind was predeceased by her husband in 1996. She leaves her daughters, Nancy (James) Simmons, Abby (Steven) Ney; grandchildren, Jessica Simmons (Liam Carey), Katie (Matthew) Weir, David Ney; great grandson Gabriel Weir; her sister Louise (Dr. Sanford) Bloomberg; her nieces Betsey Selkowitz and Jain Tarnower and her cousin Phyllis Sandrew. The family wishes to thank the staff at Sugar Hill and Hospice of Western Massachusetts for the wonderful care they provided to Mrs. Ziskind. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Western Massachusetts or Elder Services of Berkshire County sent in her name to Wellington Funeral Home, 220 East Street, Pittsfield, MA 01201. There will be a memorial for Eileen Ziskind, Friday, December 2nd at 10 a.m. at Temple Anshe Amunim, 26 Broad Street, Pittsfield, MA 01201. The family will receive friends at 280 Williams Street, Pittsfield, MA on Sunday, December 4th from 4 to 7 p.m.
